Night at the Movies Fundraiser Theme Idea

A Night at the Movies fundraiser theme for you non-profit will be loads of fun for your donors, especially movie fans. This blog will provide ideas and information about where you can find items to purchase or use as inspiration to create your own décor, centerpieces, props, photo backdrops, and more for your Night at the Movies fundraiser. These ideas also work well for an Oscars themed fundraiser. Just focus on more glitz and glamour.

Venue Décor Ideas

Fill the venue with all types of movie décor to add fun elements to your fundraiser.  One of our clients used life size cardboard cutouts of movie stars and movie characters throughout the venue.

They also displayed movie posters at food stations at the event. The posters were consistent with the types of food available at the station. For example, they displayed a Three Amigos poster at a Mexican food station and Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory poster at a chocolate fountain station.

Ideas for Centerpieces

There are a lot of eye-catching, creative things to purchase or make for your Night at the Movies centerpieces. For example, a client used popcorn boxes filled with beautiful flowers as centerpieces. The popcorn boxes can be a variety of sizes.  They also filled clear flower vases with popped popcorn and used them as centerpieces. Unpopped popcorn would work as well. To top it off, they added white flowers to the vases. To add a special touch, they wrapped movie film images around the top, middle and bottom of the vases. The vases would look great in a variety of sizes. Battery-operated tea lights looked great placed around the centerpiece.

Movie candy added to clear vases is another great idea for a centerpiece. Fill the vases to the top or fill them partially and place battery-operated tea lights on the top of the candy.

These centerpieces or variations of these centerpieces can also be used as décor on the check in and check out tables.

Here are additional ideas for centerpieces:

Concession Stand

What’s a movie night without a concession stand? Include a concession stand at your Night at the Movies fundraiser. This is also an opportunity to raise more money during your fundraiser.  Have popcorn and a variety of movie candies for sale. Your guests won’t be able to resist these movie treats.

Ideas for Photo Booths

Photo booths are a great part of a fundraiser. You can make or purchase photo backdrops related to Night at the Movies and place them throughout the venue.  Here are some examples of Night at the Movies photo backdrops to check out:

Guests will love to take selfies or group photos with their phones. Of course, many of them will post the photos on social media. Take advantage of this promotion opportunity.
